JUMPSTART TIOGA

The course consists of 4 sessions of instruction using our comprehensive Jumpstart curriculum and PowerPoint Presentation. In the program you’ll learn about the 7 JumpSteps of real estate development and virtually visit a local construction site.

We educate novice investors (with 0 - 5 previous renovation projects) on the basics of real estate development, including property sourcing, due diligence, financing, design and construction, and leasing and selling. Upon graduation, prepared participants are paired with an experienced mentor to guide them through their next development projects.

​

We are seeking participants with a commitment to revitalizing and reinvesting in Tioga. The focus of Jumpstart Tioga is not only financial gain for the participant. We are dedicated to changing Tioga for the better by providing quality homes and bringing families and homeownership back to our neighborhood.  We ask that only candidates with a similar mission apply.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION, WE LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR SUBMISSION

When applying to the program, completing a survey is the first step in our selection process.  Once you complete the form, you will be prompted to render payment of the participation fee.  This survey requests personal and opinionated data. Please be candid and detailed with your responses as they will assist us in meeting the needs of the participants and qualifying for programming.  

Please note this program will be held online via Zoom and attendance at all sessions is required.

Before registering please make note of the following: 

  • Once you submit a survey and pay the $150.00 participation fee, you will be added to the roster for the upcoming course.    The course virtual login information, important course dates and other information will be emailed closer to the start of the 1st session

​

  • The course dates for our 9th Course SUMMER 2022 are as follows:

    • Wednesday, JUNE 1ST                   1st Session

    • Wednesday, JUNE 8TH                 2nd Session

    • Wednesday, JUNE 15TH                3rd Session

    • Wednesday, JUNE 22ND               4th Session

    • Wednesday, JUNE 29TH               Graduation

    • * Each session is from 6:30-9 PM

  • Attendance at all four sessions is mandatory for graduation from the program.  If you miss a session during the course, you may complete the session during our next course held, at which time a graduation certificate of completion from the program will be issued.

  • The following is the timeline for submission for the 9th Course Summer 2022:

    • Friday, MAY 6, 2022-Survey is available online

    • Monday, MAY 30-Last day to submit surveys

    • Course prep information sent via email days before the first session

    • Wednesday, JUNE 1, 2022-First Session 9th Course Summer 2022

  • This survey is for persons interested in being a participant in the training program ONLY.  If you are interested in being a mentor, click here​ for information on mentor requirements.

  • Click the button below and complete the survey.  A completed survey will lead you to the checkout page for payment and final processing.  Once submitted, you will receive an email confirming receipt of your survey and a receipt for your payment.  When we receive confirmation on our end, your name will be added to the roster for the course.

Your Purpose

Have a goal in mind as you begin this process!  Our initial survey is designed to not only gather information on your experience but also get your mind focused on getting started in real estate.  The course goes into detail about crafting your real estate strategy but you can get started now preparing yourself for the process.  Ask yourself some questions:

  • Is this strictly educational for you or are you ready to develop?

  • Are you going to actively participate in the activities during this course?

  • Are you prepared to use your money or financial resources to be successful?

  • Are your prepared to do the research necessary to be informed as an investor?

As you answer these questions think about what type of investor you are and what you want to achieve by taking this course.

ONLINE COURSE PREPARATION

Is this your first online course?  No worries!  Here are a few tips to help you get ready.

  • Start a folder in your files to save documents and presentations shared during the course.  Do this ahead of time so you are prepared when you start to receive emails

  • Learn to save links and bookmark pages on your computer.  Its different on all models but comes in handy when trying to visit websites for quick reference

  • Get familiar with the virtual system.  When participating in a virtual classroom there are housekeeping rules that make the environment pleasant for everyone

    • Be sure to keep your microphone muted

    • Keep camera on for increased connectivity and engagement 

    • Use the chat as a parking lot for questions and commentary
